A US-based food technology company that produces ingredients for plant-based and whole cut meat products is looking for a Data Wrangling/Data Scientist. The selected candidate will be responsible for exploring, developing, and implementing machine learning solutions to drive automation, protect the quality, and accelerate commissioning. As a data scientist, you will be working closely with operations managers, business analysis, CTO, and product development team members. The company is bringing innovation to the food industry by cultivating a process powered by mycelium. It has raised a funding of over $47 mn so far. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for candidates to work with a rapidly growing startup and requires some time overlap with ET.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely with operations managers, business analysis, CTO, and product development team members
• Provide technical support to scale our existing systems rapidly
• Accelerate the learning process within the organization to drive business growth
• Explore, develop and implement ML solutions to drive automation, protect quality, and accelerate commissioning

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist/ML engineer
• Proficiency with data wrangling and data science fundamentals
• Experience working with ETL and ELT pipelines
• Knowledge of Computer Vision fundamentals (object detection, segmentation, and feature extraction)
• Strong understanding of Machine Learning concepts such as classification and regression
• Familiarity with Time Series Analysis (forecasting and anomaly detection)
• Experience with GitHub, Python, and GCP (Cloud Functions, Scheduler, and Cloud Compute)
• Some experience with Airtable, InfluxDB, Discrete Event Modeling / Operations Simulation is desirable
• Working knowledge of IoT, MQTT, PubSup, and systems architecture is an added advantage
