About the job
A US-based company providing a platform that uses computer vision to help urban planners and municipal governments design better and safer streets and public places, is looking for a Computer Vision Engineer. The engineer will be reporting to the CEO directly, and will collaborate with the existing engineering and product team to extend and improve the product’s capabilities. The company’s state-of-the-art technology senses bicycle, pedestrian, and other street traffic, and converts this data into real-time intelligence, without surveillance, to enable all sorts of partners in automation, autonomy, and development in the public right-of-way. This would be a nice opportunity for passionate developers who would like to join a mission-driven company and rise quickly through the ranks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Help build and continuously improve algorithms and analytics for detecting, classifying, and tracking objects and phenomena in streets
- Collaborate with the rest of the engineering and product team to extend and improve our product’s capabilities
- Work on a privacy-first pipeline for benchmarking the company’s detection and tracking algorithms
- Optimize the platform for faster execution
- Work on building new training sets
- Improve the existing detection and tracking algorithms
- Implement existing algorithms into the sensor applications (C++/Python/TensorRT)
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 2+ years of experience in building continuous model benchmarking and deployment pipelines
- Strong knowledge of image processing and machine learning techniques
- Must have extensive experience in Python, C++, OpenCV, NumPy, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
- Solid foundation in linear algebra and statistics
- Experience in developing object detection and tracking algorithms
- Experience in benchmarking, testing, and monitoring model performance
- Experience in leading large initiatives end-to-end
- The ability to make well-reasoned design decisions and tradeoffs for complex projects
- Prior working experience with AWS, Docker, Linux, and Serverless
- Nice to have some knowledge of HTTP, MQTT, GitHub, Slack, G Suite, CI/CD pipelines, and Clubhouse
- Ability to communicate highly complex technical subjects to other team members in ways that encourage collaboration and teamwork
