The selected candidate will be working alongside a small and focused Machine Learning Engineering team to build scalable solutions. The start-up is led by a proven founder in an industry that is growing exponentially and is striving to build a platform that delivers optimal pricing for merchants. This will be a great opportunity to work alongside e-commerce experts in the development of production quality back-end code to help deliver optimal pricing for merchants.

Job Responsibilities:

• Help bring the models into production and assist with the code quality of the pipelines
• Deploy existing open-source tools and write Python back-end code in order to automate ML processes and bring ML models into production
• Develop quality software and use the right tool for the right job
• Advocate and lead on topics like code quality and software development best practices
• Advice and help ML Engineers with coding best practices
• Understand the business needs first and then apply technology to solve those problems

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 2+ years of experience as a back-end Python developer
• Solid understanding of Unit Testing and coding best practices
• Good understanding of the nascent field of Data Engineering and ML Engineering
• Ability to discern when to code and when to deploy existing tools
• Experience writing API code and an understanding of how a RESTful API is structured
• Experience with FastAPI, Django, AWS, and GCP are nice to have
• Experience and understanding of cloud services, AWS, and any Data certifications
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Demonstrable experience working with ML Engineers or data scientists
• Expertise with ML algorithms is desirable
• Experience or exposure to Data Engineering is nice to have
