Job Purpose

  • To launch mobile solutions for staff & customers for Mashreq’s Wholesale Banking Business (CIBG)
  • To streamlines internal processes & customer interactions using mobile, web & other digital workflows

Key Result Areas

  • Work with stakeholders to identify pain points in the Wholesale Banking (Mashreq CIBG) & prioritize mobile, web, or other digital solutions for implementation
  • Work with the x-functional team to conduct detailed process mapping of existing processes (internal processes as well as customer interactions)
  • Engage x-functional stakeholders (RMs, Ops, Compliance, Legal, FP&I, Marketing, CX) to overhaul & streamline the processes, keeping in mind principles of actor reduction, TAT reduction, rework reduction, and CX improvement
  • Launch above overhauled processes on mobile, web or digital solutions, with a focus on maximizing STP (Straight Through Processes)
  • Under the Agile framework, work with technology teams to understand and finalize tech architecture & best practices
  • Work with technology teams to ensure efficiencies in system & solution design
  • Work closely with technology members of the squad to write user stories (requirements), groom/finalize the same, oversee development, SIT, UAT and go live
  • Own and manage 3 year development strategy & delivery roadmap for mobile, web & other digital solutions
  • Drive decisions basis strong business cases & meet agreed KPIs & KPAs around usage, impact, & CX improvement
  • Lead a team of x-functional representatives (without them reporting into you) to deliver on above agenda

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 5-10 experience in developing mobile and/or online banking (from a product owner, product manager or business owner/manager perspective – this is not a tech role) – this can be as overall mobile product owner, or implementing mobile solutions for particular banking products or services
  • Demonstrated track record of banking products, policy & process re-engineering/overhaul; we need someone who has torn up the rulebook and launched disruptive solutions, i.e., not someone who has taken a process and removed 2 out of 10 signatures, or reduced actors from 10 to 7. We need someone who has removed ALL signatures or reduced actors from 10 to zero.
  • Strong understanding of banking systems, products, processes, policies, and regulations
  • Strong understanding of banking technology – how to leverage old & new systems & technologies to make things happen quickly and effectively
  • Good engagement skills, the job involves building relationships across the bank to understand pain points, brainstorm solutions, seek approvals, and make them a reality in the digital world
  • Robust number & financial skills – to be able to build & defend businesses cases and put in place effective dashboards and reports
  • Good business acumen – should be should be able to identify what needs to be prioritized why, basis P&L impact, CX impact, or management priority
