Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Have good knowledge of bookkeeping in terms of maintenance of the General Ledger, and preparation of Trial Balance and Accounts.
  • Preparation and recording of Journal Vouchers (JV), Bank Payment Vouchers (BPV), and Bank Receipts vouchers (BRV).
  • Assist in the preparation of Trial Balance and closing of accounts on monthly basis in an ERP environment.
  • Independent ownership of payment process, maintenance of bank book, and bank reconciliation.
  • Shows basic knowledge of tax laws. Ensure compliance with tax laws while making payments and assist in preparing regular tax returns.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation, compliance, and reporting needs of research grants and contracts.
  • Ensure all expenses are allocated and booked properly among the projects.
  • Liaison with Tax Consultant.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by seniors.
  • Other duties as necessary

Required Qualifications

  • ACCA-Affiliate, M.com, BS Accounting and Finance
  • Up to 0-1 year of post-qualification industry experience in accounts and finance for ACCA-Affiliate.
  • Up to 1-3 years of post-qualification industry experience in accounts and finance for M.com BS Accounting and Finance.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, but also as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in NPO and handling grand-based projects will be added advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite with an understanding of the role of IT in management; knowledge of ERP is a strong plus.
